Warning
Don't even try RT 32bit below 2GB of memory. To let it run stable during coversions (which use the most RAM):
- Set Windows 32bit in 3GB mode. Look here for how to set it, and here is the full explanation. If XP has problems booting, also add /userva=2900 after /3GB.
- Close all other programs
- Set RT in Multiple Tab Mode
- STOP the RT Batch queue, no Auto-Start
- Edit all your pictures, and send then to the batch queue (do NOT save them directly!)
- After you're done: close the preview image tab (because open images soak RAM)
- Change to a directory that has none or only few images in RT (images in file browser soak RAM)
- Then start the batch queue. Do not open any images while processing
- Biggest RAM hogs are Contrast-by-Detail, Denoise, Shadow/Highlight in high quality. So do not enable them if your image doesn't need them.

RT works very well with
Adobe DNGs, saving disk space and allowing you to add metadata to your RAW, while being long term stable. You can use
these tools to convert your RAWs to DNG and also tag them.
Some packages are packed with 7-Zip, which
you can get here.
